Franchise FAQ
Owning an Alden Attic Insulation franchise means running a real home service business backed by The Garrison Standard. These are the questions we hear most from prospective owners. If you don’t see yours here, call (254) 272-5876 and ask a live person.
Common Questions
What experience do I need to open an Alden Attic Insulation franchise?
You don’t need a background in insulation or construction. We look for owners who can run a disciplined operation, manage a crew, and treat homeowners with respect. If you’ve led teams, run a business, or managed operations in any field, you already have the core skills. We train you on the trade itself before your first truck rolls.
How much does it cost to open an Alden Attic Insulation franchise?
Total investment ranges from roughly $120,000 to $240,000 depending on your market, vehicle count, and equipment package. That includes the franchise fee, initial inventory, equipment, a wrapped vehicle, and working capital for your first months. We put every cost in writing before you sign anything, same as we do for homeowners. Call (254) 272-5876 to request the detailed breakdown.
Do you offer financing or help with funding?
We don’t provide financing directly, but we do connect you with lenders who understand franchise businesses. Many owners use SBA-backed loans, and we’ll walk you through what those lenders typically require. We also help you build a realistic startup budget so you know exactly what you’re asking for.
What territory or exclusivity do I get?
Each Alden location gets a defined territory, which we agree on before you sign. That means a specific set of ZIP codes where you have the exclusive right to operate under the Alden name. The size depends on population density, housing stock, and how many crews you plan to run. We don’t overlap territories. One owner serves one area.
How long does training take?
Initial training runs about three weeks, split between classroom-style instruction and hands-on time in a working attic. You learn blown-in insulation, batt installation, removal, moisture inspection, and the pricing system we use at every location. After that, our support team stays on the line with you for your first several jobs. Training never really stops because the attic keeps teaching you things.
What ongoing fees or royalties do I pay?
Franchisees pay a royalty and a brand fund contribution. We’ll give you the exact percentages in your discovery packet, in writing, with no surprises. The royalty covers what you’d expect: the brand, the systems, the vendor relationships, and the support line. The brand fund covers marketing and lead generation. You’ll see the math before you commit.
How long does it take from signing to my first job?
Most owners are running jobs within 90 to 120 days of signing. That timeline covers training, territory mapping, equipment setup, vehicle wrapping, and your first marketing push. Some markets move faster, some slower depending on permitting and seasonal weather. We’d rather open you right than open you fast.
What kind of support do I get after opening?
You get a dedicated support line answered by a live person, not a voicemail. You also get help with local marketing, pricing on materials through our vendor relationships with Owens Corning, Johns Manville, Knauf, Rockwool, CertainTeed, Icynene, Demilec, and GreenFiber, and ongoing training for your techs. The Garrison Standard applies to every location, and we hold ourselves to it. When you run into a problem, you call and a person picks up.
What kind of person makes a good Alden franchise owner?
The right owner is someone who wants a business that runs on discipline, not chaos. You show up inside the window you gave. You put the price in writing before work starts. You do it by the book and leave the site clean. If that sounds like how you already operate, you’d fit. If you’re looking for passive income, this isn’t it. You’ll be in the business, at least for the first year or two.
What’s the next step if I’m interested?
